First Timer's Guide to Bed and Breakfast Etiquette

Unlike a big hotel, staying at bed and breakfast is much more personal affair characterized by a unique warmth and home-like ambiance. It is like a home away from home and gives you ample opportunity to mingle both with the inn owner as well as other fellow travelers. With the unique experience, the responsibility of any staying traveler increases in terms of how he conducts himself. For all newbies and veterans as well, we provide some etiquette tips on staying at any Gatwick Airport B&B.

Remember to read the fine print of a list of rules and regulations of the inn. For instance, they have an incoming times post which you need to get the extra key to get yourself inside. This would make the stay pleasant both for you and the owner. Initially, the owner may not say a word to you for not adhering to the rule, but gradually coldness would shroud, making things unpleasant for all.

Often a B&B is a private residence. Thus, it’s always important to knock before entering even though you may have a warm relationship with the owner. It is not like a hotel where you can just walk in. That would look too rude.

Unlike a hotel where you can call anytime, it’s best to call at a decent and appropriate time. You should never call at breakfast time during which any guest house owner might be terribly busy. Simultaneously, we must never call in the middle of the night or at other inappropriate time which may cause inconvenience to the proprietor.

The breakfasts are a special affair at any B&B. In case you had planned to eat breakfast at a different destination, or you have some specific breakfast demands; everything must be ironed out the night before. The food, as well as the cook's effort, must never go to waste. Always remember to appreciate the chef’s efforts and compliment him for the tasty spread. Everybody likes to be appreciated for their work.

Never ever treat your host as a servant or take him for a dumb person. The person is providing you services in the true sense. Giving respect will earn you respect as well. With it, maybe he would go a little extra mile for you like giving you some extras or being extra helpful to you to even give you some discounts. It is true that good behavior can earn you something that money cannot buy.

Feel like home at Band B of your choice

Are you visiting Gatwick for the first time or are you a frequent visitor? Whatever the category you fall into, there’s something for everyone! And by something we mean that you can chose the perfect Gatwick airport B&B that is most convenient to you.

The bed and breakfast hotels are situated at a location that’s completely convenient to you and the offer the best of amenities; sometimes better than the local and larger hotels at Gatwick. These hotels are completely within your budget and offer personal service. Everyone is courteous; right from the staff to the owner. They make you feel completely at ease and at home.

These hotels come equipped with all modern amenities and facilities that you may be looking to make use off during your stay at the hotel. Some of these are;

Ø  Taxi service to and from the Gatwick airport

Ø  A 24 hour wi-fi connectivity

Ø  Room rates including a large continental breakfast, served in your bed

Ø  Facilities of Tv, basins and hair dryers in every room
Ø  Advance booking of taxis for your travels

Ø  Reasonable rates for parking facilities for long term guests

Also, on offer for guests who visit regularly are parking services for lower costs but it entirely depends on how frequently you visit them. Some hotels are much cheaper than others as they offer attractive rates to get their customers while some hotels focus on providing quality service and maintain affordable rates.

Your bed and breakfast packages come in two variations; some will have the cost of breakfast included inside the package while others might not offer breakfast in the package as most frequent travelers have early morning flights. Of course, the choice of package depends entirely on the nature of your visit. The best things about these hotels are that they are often within a five minute drive of Gatwick airport which means you don’t have to end up leaving hours earlier just to catch a flight.
Another added advantage is that some bed and breakfast hotels are located close to various small local towns that are either a two to five minute walk away from the hotel. What better way than to begin the day with a stroll to a nearby town for steaming cup of morning tea?

With Gatwick being the second largest airport in the country, there are flights coming in and leaving at various hours. Most often the check-in and check-out times at all bed and breakfast hotels are flexible so as to suit these odd hours of arrival and departure. Make sure you visit Gatwick and stay at a hotel that suits your needs.
